Fundamentals of Space Awareness

Have you ever wondered how satellites stay in orbit, why astronauts float on the International Space Station, or how NASA plans missions to the Moon and Mars? Fundamentals of Space Awareness answers these questions and more, giving you the scientific foundation to understand and participate in humanity's most excellent adventure.

Guided by AI instructors Felix and Jenny, you'll journey through the physics that governs every object in space. Starting with Newton's revolutionary insights about gravity, you'll learn to calculate gravitational forces, orbital velocities, and escape speeds, the same calculations used by engineers at NASA, SpaceX, and aerospace companies worldwide.

What You'll Learn

* Define gravity and apply Newton's Law of Universal Gravitation to real space scenarios.

* Calculate gravitational force, orbital velocity, and orbital period using professional formulas.

* Understand why satellites orbit at different altitudes and speeds.

* Apply Kepler's Third Law to solve orbital mechanics problems.

* Connect physics concepts to actual missions, including Starlink, GPS, and Artemis.

* Explore career pathways in the space industry, projected to reach $1.8 trillion by 2035
